The tubing pump gets its name from the fact that its barrel assembly(pump barrel, extention nipples and seatin nipple) is screwed onto, and becomes a part the tubing.
The tubing pump has the following advantages:
1. A tubing pump has a large bore than a rod pump and produces a greater volume of fluid in any given diameter of tubing.
2. The tubing pump is strongest pump made. It has large fluid flow areas and is adaptable for producing visous fluid.
3. It is recommended for GYP wells.
But due to the limitation imposed by the stretch of the rod string, installation are ususlly shallow to medium deoth with relatively large volumes of fluid. It is not recommended for assy.
